STC A - Dunkettle to City

The Dunkettle to City Sustainable Transport Corridor (STC A) commences at the Dunkettle Roundabout. From here to the Port of Cork Millennium Gardens the cycle and bus infrastructure will be delivered as part of separate projects proposed by Cork City Council. These projects include the Eastern Gateway Bridge, Pathfinder Programme and the Tivoli Docks Development.

The BusConnects Cork proposed bus route (STC A) starts to the west of the Port of Cork Millennium Gardens and follows Lower Glanmire Road until Water Street where it turns south and continues to Horgan’s Quay before turning right onto Alfred Street. The scheme ends at the junction with MacCurtain Street.

The BusConnects Cork proposed cycle route starts west of the Port of Cork Millennium Gardens and follows Lower Glanmire Road on a new pedestrian and cyclist boardwalk outside the quay walls. Cyclists then travel on a new cycle track through the North Docks that connects to a quayside cycle route on Horgan’s Quay that continues towards the city centre.
