Ref: Dublin South-West Study and option to introduce parking restrictions along Fortfield Road and Park to 'improve bus speeds',
As an owner on Fortfield Park I would like to raise an objection to the above referenced proposal of introducing parking restrictions to improve bus speeds. I wish to retain the right to on-street parking on Fortfield Park. I also object to increasing the frequency of the 54A bus on this road.
The proposal of trying to remove on street parking would encourage more traffic to use Fortified Park and to drive faster than current speeds. This would result in a more hazardous environment for the residents, many of whom have young families.
I am strongly opposed to removing on-street parking and becoming a major thoroughfare for frequent 24 hour bus traffic which I feel is completely unnecessary.
I also note the lack of consultation to date in relation to this specific issue- i.e. no leaflet drop to residents potentially affected- and look forward to further engagement on this matter in an open and transparent manner.
