in relation to the F1 Bus Route, your draft documents proposes to remove parking on Fortfield Park. This proposal will cause considerable issues for residents on Fortfield Park, a residential road of approx 300m with with schools at either end. Fortfield Park has a 30km an hour speed limit and restricting or removing parking will only speed up traffic and encourage drivers to use the road as a rat run.

The alleged reason for the removal of parking on Fortfield Park is to remove obstacles for the speed of the F1 bus route noted above. There is virtually no parking that currently obstructs buses on Fortfield Park, with the exception of school opening and closing hours. Nor is there any current problem with the speed of buses in this 30km zone that a parking ban would cure.I believe lots of people park on Fortfield Park to access St Pius school. I don't think people will stop driving their children to school and the parking will just shift to adjacent roads.

It is quite likely that if parking is banned, it will cause the traffic on this road to speed up and cause a danger to children travelling to and from St Pius X and Terenure College schools.
